How to make a juicy, tender turkey shashlik

For a turkey marinade, you will need two ingredients – fruit acids (you can use orange or apple juice) and fats. You can also use kiwi, but take into account, that you can marinade the meat with it only for half an hour. The oil helps acids penetrate deeper into the turkey and prevents the meat from “drying out”. We recommend to buy turkey thighs or meat from the “ArviKalakutai” branded stores, which you can find in all major cities of Lithuania. We have a wide range of products and affordable prices.


1. Cut the turkey meat into cubes. Put in a bowl, add a glass of juice, salt, herbs, spices, orange zest, and “massage” until the liquid is absorbed into the meat.

 2. Put in the fridge for 2-3 hours. Before frying, grease the meat well with oil – the oil will give juiciness, by keeping the juice inside turkey meat.

3. Eggplants and zucchini cut into slices 2-3 cm thick, then pieces can also be divided in half. Cut onion into rings. Then string the turkey on a skewer, alternating with vegetables.

4. Grill for about 20 minutes until the ingredients are browned. Served with bulgur and Greek yoghurt.

about 200 ml of juice (orange or apple)

a handful of thyme

1 tsp rosemary casts

½ tsp sweet pepper seasonings

1 tsp grated orange or lemon zest

1 eggplant

1 zucchini

1 red onion
